When it comes to keeping your pet healthy, prevention is always the best medicine. Routine wellness exams play a pivotal role in your animal companion enjoying a long, happy and healthy life. At the Animal Medical Center of Mid-America, we recommend bringing your pet in for an examination at least once a year (more frequently for older animals). These visits allow us to gather a complete picture of your pet’s overall health and provide us with the opportunity to identify any potential concerns before they become a problem. This means a healthier life for your pet and a cost savings for you.
Our comprehensive wellness visits include a thorough physical examination, during which the veterinarian will examine your pet from nose to tail. We will listen to your pet’s lungs and heart and check the eyes, ears, skin, teeth, and gums. We may also order a number of routine diagnostics, such as blood or urine tests. Your pet’s weight and diet will also be monitored and discussed.
Finally, we use these routine visits to get to know you and your animal companion better. We want to form a trusting relationship that will serve your pet throughout each and every life stage. Should you have any questions or concerns about your pet, our veterinarians and staff are more than happy to help – just ask!
AMCMA believes that wellness is a year-round commitment. Our clients have the option to enroll their pet(s) in a Preventative Care Plan to ensure all their health needs are met. Preventative Care Plans are billed monthly and include all the important care your pet needs at any life stage. Prevention is the best medicine! Consider enrolling your pet in a Preventative Care Plan at your next visit.
Routine wellness visits provide the perfect opportunity for our veterinarians to make sure your pet is up to date on all necessary vaccinations. These immunizations help protect your animal companion against a number of dangerous and potentially life-threatening medical conditions. Our experienced staff will work with you to develop a vaccination plan that is tailored to your pet’s unique needs.
