Having your pet spayed or neutered is part of responsible pet ownership. Not only are these procedures helpful in preventing animal overpopulation, but they also feature a number of health and behavioral benefits for your pet. For instance, spaying a female cat or dog can prevent dangerous uterine infections, while neutering a male can prevent testicular cancer if done before 6 months of age. Animal Medical Center of Mid-America is dedicated to helping pet owners by offering low-cost spay/neuter programs. We believe every pet should have a chance to live a long, happy and healthy life, and spaying and neutering is a great place to start!

We offer low-cost spay and neuter surgeries for the pets of both Missouri and Illinois residents. All pets that are spayed or neutered at our facilities are treated with pain medication and, with a minimal amount of home care, are back to being normal, happy pets in just a few short days.

Classic Spay / Classic Neuter (Canine and Feline)

AMCMA offers "Classic Spay" / "Classic Neuter" surgeries at all three AMCMA locations.  These surgeries are available to all pet owners regardless of where they reside. Having performed over 370,000 spays and neuters since 1970, we understand that each pet is unique and needs individual care.  Each pet's surgical procedure is performed in one of our AAHA accredited clinics according to the highest medical standards.  All pets will receive general anesthesia and post-operative pain medication.

AMCMA receives no special funding to subsidize the cost of the "Classic Spay" / "Classic Neuter".  AMCMA remains dedicated to keeping these surgeries affordable and is proud to offer them to public at the same cost as the clinic pays in overhead to perform them.  The fee for a cat or dog less than 50 pounds is: $139.95; while the fee for dogs over 50 pounds is: $159.95

Pets must be at least four months old and be up-to-date on rabies and distemper vaccines. These vaccines must have been given by a licensed veterinarian at least two weeks prior to surgery. A $24.95 non-refundable deposit is required when the appointment is scheduled and will be applied to the balance of the bill on the day of surgery.

 SNIP Program (Canine and Feline)

Our Spay/Neuter Incentive Program, SNIP, is our low-cost spay and neuter program.  SNIP is subsidized through donations from the public and through charitable grants. If you are able to pay more than subsidized cost for these procedure, then your support is appreciated to help allow more pets to be spayed or neutered each year.  This subsidized program has a limited number of appointments available at all three AMCMA locations. The SNIP program is limited to Missouri residents and provides spay/neuter procedures at a client cost of $39.95 for cats and dogs up to 50 pounds.  For dogs over 50 pounds, the client cost is $59.95.   Missouri residents may have up to three canine or feline pets spayed or neutered through this program annually. Pets must be at least four months old and be up-to-date on rabies and distemper vaccines. These vaccines must have been given by a licensed veterinarian at least two weeks prior to surgery. A $24.95 non-refundable deposit is required when the appointment is scheduled and will be applied to the cost of the surgery. If for any reason you do not keep your scheduled surgery appointment, your $24.95 deposit will be forfeited.
