On November 14th, several current and former staff members of the Animal Medical Center of Mid-America came together to celebrate a Century of Service. Marking 100 years of veterinary services provided by the Humane Society of Missouri to the community is a huge accomplishment for any organization, and the event showcased the many people who have made our veterinary services so successful. Our values of always putting animals first, striving toward excellence and providing compassionate care were firmly established decades ago and continue to guide us today. We were deeply touched when Dr. Jose Garcia, who worked at our clinic for 43 years, and his wife joined us for the celebration. His deep knowledge of working long hours alongside Dr. Suzanne Sauerssig, the first female veterinarian in the state of Missouri and our clinic director for nearly 40 years, reminded us that we stand on the shoulders of those that came before us. We also welcomed Angela Pearson, Special Projects Manager for City of St. Louis Mayor Tishara Jones, who presented an official Proclamation to our HSMO president Kathy Warnick, marking November 14, 2023 as “Animal Medical Center of Mid-America Day” in St. Louis.
Today, between our locations at Macklind at Best Buddy, we are the largest veterinary practice in the region, and through our current leadership and staff, we will continue to build on the legacy of hard work and dedication that allowed us to provide A Century of Service. We are excited to start the next chapter of veterinary medicine and outstanding clinical and client services, because we all believe that our Best Friends Deserve the Best Care!
